Summer Speedo Cleanse: Part 5 (the final chapter)

Have you been wondering about the subsequent posts that I promised you on the Summer Speedo Cleanse?  Well, I think that this photo sums it up…

I am sure that you get the idea – right?  After 48 hours on the cleanse Jose and I were feeling very low energy, irritable and we began to question why we had actually chosen to do a cleanse in the first place.  The title of my posts might imply that we wanted to lose weight or trim down for the beach but we both are actually quite happy with our physique’s.  I think that we just wanted to do something that felt “good for us.”  You read about the prep, you saw the main meals included and as I mentioned, they tasted pretty good.  However, the ingredients may have been a bit too much and too soon for our systems to manage.  After 48 hours of the cleanse I became quite ill and spent about 5 hours in and out of the bathroom where I guess I was, well, cleansing.  No too much fun and I am sure it wasn’t how the cleanse was supposed to work.  I woke the next day feeling pretty worn out and dehydrated and spent the next few days recovering.

I have thought a lot about what I would say about the cleanse and how I would end this series of posts.  Not exactly the outcome I had envisioned.  I am not a Doctor, I am not a trained nutritionist, I am simply a guy that likes to keep himself healthy and fit through exercise and eating well.  My overall take away from this experience:  MODERATION.

I think this has been referenced throughout time but in light of the cleanse please read what one of my favorite food icons said about this topic…

“Moderation. Small helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health.” – Julia Child

Pretty simple and straightforward.  I am going to try the on for size.  Happy living to you all!
